FLAGS WAVE in the breeze during a Memorial Day ceremony held in Grant County. The flags will be displayed again during a Flag Day observance on June 14. A short ceremony honoring our flag and veterans, both living and deceased, will be conducted. The public is invited to be a part of this observance. American Legion Post #30 posts the flags on the Court House Square around the War Memorial Moument and have a short ceremony every Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, National POW/MIA Recognition Day (third Friday in September ) and Veterans Day. Sheridan School Board names Haynes district superintendent A 25-year employee of the Sheridan School District was named its next superintendent for the 2008-2009 academic year by the Sheridan School Board during its regular monthly meeting held last week on June 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the 1913 Administration Building.
Sheridan Council oks modifications to city jail to hold more inmates, increases leash law fees The search for a new police chief, increased leash law fees, the city jail, and the district court were just a few of the numerous topics addressed by the Sheridan City Council last week in its regular monthly meeting.
Parole board denies clemency for man convicted in murder of Sheridan woman A Pine Bluff man convicted and serving a life without parole sentence for the murder of a Sheridan resident 16 years ago was denied executive clemency after being granted a clemency hearing.
The summer reading program "Catch the Reading Bug" at the Grant County Library began this week and ends on July 23. The program is for children of all ages.
