Families, friends gather to send-off local Guard unit

A crowd of several hundred family members, friends and well-wishers braved the damp cold together on the lawn of the Grant County Courthouse on Wednesday afternoon to participate in a yellow ribbon-tying ceremony for the Sheridan-based unit of the Arkansas Army National Guard.

2 markers in place at Civil War park

Two of three interpretive markers at Jenkins' Ferry State Park on Highway 46 that were lost to vandalism a year ago have been replaced. The third was destroyed by a fire, but has been re-ordered.

Judge reports to QC debris removal is 30% complete
