Please read the following
For the purpose of this agreement,
"Subscriber" shall mean the person who is applying for access to the full
online digital/electronic version of The Sheridan Headlight, hereafter
called "newspaper."
In order to subscribe to the full online version of the newspaper,
subscriber must:
Pay the subscription fee set forth by the newspaper, in advance. Payment
shall be for a period of one-year. The system is designed to automatically
send a account expiration notice approx. 30 days from the time of account
expiration via e-mail. If payment is not received prior to the
expiration date, login shall be automatically disabled by the system.
Have a high-speed internet connection such as DSL or cable. In the event
that high-speed is not available in subscriber's area, dial-up may be used
but is NOT recommended due to page load times. Dial-up subscribers shall
hold newspaper harmless from any problems in connectivity. While it may be
possible in most dial-up cases to download pages, it will be a very slow
connection that may even time-out every now and then. Therefore, we highly
recommend only high-speed users should subscribe online at this time.
Have a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and working properly on
subscriber computer. This program is available free for download from Adobe
products at www.adobe.com.
Have frames enabled in your browser. Most current browsers are set to handle
this automatically. To enable frames, go the "help" file in the top menu on
your browser.
In the event that subscriber shall not meet the above requirements for
viewing the online full edition, the newspaper shall not be responsible in
any way for subscriber not being able to access the online version.
The newspaper shall provide, each Wednesday, the new version of that week's
newspaper for online full version subscriber use. This information shall be
provided in .pdf format.
Subscriber shall not distribute or share username and password with any
other person (except for with those who share the same household). Scripts has been installed on this website which tracks subscriber use of
the online version. This tracks no personal information, but does alert
newspaper of multiple users sharing online access and automatically suspends
the offending account. Any subscriber who is
found to be sharing access shall be subject to immediate forfeiture of
remaining subscription time. This is for the protection of the newspaper.
All subscriptions must be documented for legal verification purposes, and
paid subscribers allow for the newspaper to be published. We ask for your
respect and understanding on this matter.
The newspaper shall provide subscriber with a working username and password. This information shall
be sent automatically by email. Subscribers paying by credit card typically
get their username and password instantly and those paying by check must
wait for the check to clear our bank before receiving access. Should email be unavailable for subscriber,
subscriber should contact newspaper by telephone at (870) 942-2142 or by
mail at The Sheridan Headlight, P.O. Box 539, Sheridan, AR 72150. The
newspaper shall make reasonable effort to ensure login information is sent
to new subscribers in a timely manner. However, if the subscriber has not
received a response within 48 hours (during business days), subscriber shall
contact newspaper for information by phone, mail or by email at
"online@sheridanheadlight.com."
In the event of emergency or disaster, the newspaper shall be held harmless
for late updating of newspaper. However, the newspaper shall make every
effort to upload the new issue on time, every week. In the event of an
emergency or disaster, the newspaper shall make upload as soon as necessary
services are restored to the newspaper office (power, etc.), during business
hours.
Subscriber understands this subscription is for an electronic/digital
version of The Sheridan Headlight. No newspaper shall be received via mail
for these subscribers, but subscribers may choose to print out a copy of any
page desired by using the 'print' function on the user computer. If printing
a full page, subscriber should choose to "tile" pages.
Online subscriptions are non-refundable and
cannot be exchanged for a regular mail subscription. Time remaining on an
online subscription will not be credited towards a mail subscription. There
are no refunds or exchanges allowed.
Requests for lost passwords shall be answered as quickly as possible
electronically, when available. If subscriber loses his/her password,
subscriber may request this information by using the automated password
recovery system on the site. Resetting a password may require
administrator intervention and is typically done within 48 hours from the
time of the request.
The site also monitors hacking attempts and
will automatically block the IP addresses of those that are trying to hack
into the site for a period of 24 hours. All failed login attempts are
recorded and the site administrator is automatically notified of hacking
attempts and can place a long term ban on users.
You
MUST have the proper software and internet connection in order to subscribe
online. You should have a high-speed connection (dial-up
connections will be slow but are permitted. You are warned, however, that
with dial-up internet, these pages can take a long time to load). You will
also need Adobe Acrobat Reader.

is a free program available from Adobe (www.adobe.com). You can click on the icon
